Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Kano Analytics ("the App") handles information. Kano Analytics is an internal analytics dashboard built and operated by Kano, a women's fashion retailer based in Jakarta, Indonesia. The App is used only by Kano staff and is not offered to the public.

1. Information the App collects

Kano Analytics collects information from the TikTok account that an authorised Kano staff member connects to the App. When that person authorises the App through TikTok's standard authorization screen, the App receives an access token and reads the following data through the TikTok API:

• user.info.basic — the account's open ID, avatar image and display name. Used to show which account is currently connected so staff can confirm the correct brand account is linked.
• user.info.stats — follower count, following count, total likes and total video count. Used to display current audience size and to record a daily snapshot so the App can chart follower growth over time.
• video.list — for the connected account's own public posts: video ID, title, description, cover image, share URL and view, like, comment and share counts. Used to populate the content performance table so the Kano team can compare which posts performed best.

Kano Analytics does not collect TikTok direct messages, private videos, drafts, follower lists, contact lists, payment details or location data. The App does not post, edit or delete anything on TikTok.

2. How the App uses the information

The data above is used for one purpose: to let the Kano marketing team review the performance of Kano's own TikTok content alongside Kano's own sales figures. Kano Analytics does not use the data for advertising, profiling of individuals, automated decision-making, or training machine learning models.

3. Storage and security

Data retrieved through the TikTok API is stored in a database on a private server that Kano operates. Access tokens are stored encrypted at rest. All traffic to Kano Analytics is served over HTTPS. Access to the App is restricted to authenticated Kano staff accounts.

4. Retention and deletion

Kano Analytics retains TikTok data for up to 24 months so that year-on-year comparisons remain possible. When a connected TikTok account is disconnected from the App, the stored access token is destroyed immediately and the data retrieved for that account is deleted within 30 days.

5. Withdrawing access

Access can be withdrawn at any time, either from the Disconnect button inside Kano Analytics, or from the TikTok app under Settings and privacy → Security and permissions → Manage app permissions. Once access is withdrawn, Kano Analytics stops retrieving any further data from TikTok.

6. Sharing with third parties

Kano Analytics does not sell, rent, trade or otherwise disclose TikTok data to any third party. The data is not shared with advertising networks, data brokers or analytics vendors. Data may be disclosed only where Kano is required to do so by applicable Indonesian law.

7. Children

Kano Analytics is an internal business tool and is not directed at or made available to children.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be published on this page with an updated date. Material changes affecting how TikTok data is handled will be reflected here before they take effect.
